Tomoko Takahashi

  • Born in Japan
  • Studied at the Tokyo Academy of Arts; scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service for a stay at the Berlin Academy of the Arts with Klaus Hellwig
  • Two-time winner at the Arthur Schnabel Competition in Berlin, among other awards
  • Has received invitations as a soloist to perform works by Mozart, Schumann, and Mendelssohn from festivals, orchestras, and conductors in many countries, including repeated invitations from the Berliner Philharmonie
  • Performs regularly with soloists from the Berliner Philharmoniker, the Orchester der Deutschen Oper Berlin, the Rundfunk Sinfonieorchester Berlin, the Tonhalle Orchester Zürich, the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks, the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchesters, as well as the Bamberger Symphoniker
  • Takahashi shares her experiences with young musicians, among others at the Orchestra Academy of the Berliner Philharmoniker, and teaches at both the Berlin University of the Arts and the Hanns Eisler School of Music Berlin
