  • Member of the Finnish National Opera Orchestra at age 18
  • Double bass studies at Hyvinkää Conservatory in Finland, with Günter Klaus at Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts, with Franco Petracchi at Geneva Conservatory and at Menuhin Academy in Gstaad
  • Since 1986, member of the Berliner Philharmoniker, solo bassist from 1999 to 2001
  • Premiere performances of numerous works for double bass with ensembles Die Berliner and Philharmonisches Oktett
  • Prizewinner at international competitions including Isle of Man, International Instrumental Competition Markneukirchen and ARD International Music Competition
  • Teaching at master courses in Finland, Sweden, Italy, Germany and Switzerland as well as at Junge Deutsche Philharmonie, Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra and Herbert von Karajan Academy
  • Since 2000, teacher with the Orchestra Academy of Berliner Philharmoniker and Guest Professor for Double Bass at Hanns Eisler School of Music Berlin
