Alumnus Ander Perrino Cabello double bass professor in Munich

Spanish double bassist and Eisler alumnus Ander Perrino Cabello has been appointed to a professorship in double bass at the University of Music and Dance in Munich for the winter semester 2024/25. He is also principal double bass of the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin. He studied at the Eisler from 2007 in the class of Prof Esko Laine and Janne Saksala.

In the 2009/2010 season he was an academy member of the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin (DSO) and in the following season in the Karajan Academy of the Berliner Philharmoniker. He has been a permanent member of the Mahler Chamber Orchestra since 2013, and has been principal double bass in the DSO since 2015.

Since 2013, he has gained teaching experience as a lecturer for double bass in masterclasses in Chile and Colombia and as a lecturer at the Centro Superior de Música Katarina Gurska in Madrid. He is also active as a composer and is committed to innovative and interdisciplinary music formats. His debut solo album with pianist Jarkko Riihimäki was released in 2024 on the IBS Classical label.
